Skehan triumphs in U19 championships

BADMINTON: Larkhall Academy's Ewan Skehan lifted the coveted boys' under-19 title at the Lanarkshire Schools Championships. Skehan defeated Dalziel High's Scott Jackson into second place in the showpiece event of the meet.

In the equivalent girls' event, Coltness High School's Emma Gallacher came out on top, seeing off Holy Cross' Georgia Addison in the final.

Jackson did claim a title when he won the doubles with Robert Dunn. Indeed, the final was an all-Dalziel High affair, with the duo beating Kris Hawkins and Gary Jamison in the final. Rebecca Fraser and Kathryn Hughes (St Andrew's and St Bride's) teamed up to win the girls' under-19 doubles, with Hughes also winning the mixed doubles with Matthew Weglicki.
