CALLUM Macaulay took over as the leading Scot at the halfway stage in the inaugural Gujarat Kensville Challenge in India.

The former Scottish amateur champion shot a second-round 73 at Kensville Golf Club in Ahmedabad to sit in a tie for 12th on 145, one-over. He is five shots off the lead, held by Indian Gaganjeet Bhullar and Austrian Florian Praegant.

Dubai-based Ross Bain dropped to a tie for 18th on 146 after a 75, which saw him spill four shots going out, while Craig Lee just made the cut on 159 after a 79 that included two double-bogeys and just one birdie.
