It contains archive material from two of the town's best-known firms, Wm. Paton and Clifton & Baird, as well as other material relating to the town's heritage. Last year was the 200th anniversary of abolition of the slave trade in the British Empire. HLF funding was granted to explore links between slavery and properties now owned by the National Trust for Scotland – Greenbank included.
BIG TREE COUNTRY, Perth and Kinross, various events, Saturday/Sunday 20/21 September: www.perthshirebigtreecountry.co.uk This HLF-supported project promotes Perthshire's historic trees, grand estates and remarkable woodlands.
