Socialite Pippa Middleton shares a joke with Mariann Byerwalter, left, and her brother James while watching play from the Royal Box at Wimbledon.

The sister of the Duchess of Cambridge was in illustrious company; in front of her sits Princess Michael of Kent, while behind her is the actress Felicity Kendall. Ms Middleton is well-known for her love of tennis and has recently compiled a short guide to the tournament. Writing in the latest edition of Vanity Fair, she urged women visiting Wimbledon not to make plans in the evening in case a match runs on. ‘There’s nothing worse than having to leave Rafael Nadal’s athleticism for a routine pizza with friends,” she wrote. Ms Middleton, who apparently dreamt of becoming a Wimbledon champion as a child, also recalled being left embarrassed one year when her father shouted, ‘Come on Pete’ by accident, during a match between Pete Sampras and Tim Henman.
