Teen's child porn stash 'an accident'

A TEENAGER claimed he "accidentally" downloaded pornographic images of children despite using search terms like "Lolita", a court heard.

Douglas Laughland, 19, said he got the pictures and movies from a banned file-sharing network. He told police he had downloaded lots of porn but child pornography came down as well.

Laughland was put on probation and listed on the sex offenders register for a year when he appeared for sentence yesterday.

He was also ordered to do 180 hours community service.

Julia McLaren, prosecuting, told Livingston Sheriff Court that when police raided Laughland's home in Livingston on August 10 last year they found 53 indecent images and two movies on a desktop computer and a further 12 images and two movies from a laptop used by the accused.
