Sony unveils its rival to Apple's iPad

SONY is planning to launch a tablet computer rival to Apple's iPad later this year.

The product, code-named S1, was unveiled yesterday in Tokyo. It has a 9.4 inch display for enjoying films, music, video games and e-books, and for online connections, including e-mail and social networking. It runs Google's Android operating system 3.0.
