Postman Pat voice actor Ken Barrie dies

The voice of the beloved children's TV character Postman Pat has died aged 73.

The actor, who was born Leslie Hulme, was best known for voicing Postman Pat in the 1980s childrens’ show of the same name.

A talented singer, Barrie sang the show’s theme tune which was later released as a single and where it spent 15 weeks in the top 75.

He also provided the soundtrack for the 1987 animation Charlie Chalk.

A family member told the BBC that Barrie died at his home in Uxbridge, London, after a short battle with cancer.
