Police charge two in blitz on Asbo flouters

A CRACKDOWN on offenders violating their antisocial behaviour orders has led to a pair of men being charged by police.

A 22-year-old man, from the Gorebridge area, was charged with breaking the terms of his Asbo last Wednesday and is now set to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on 19 March.

A 19-year-old man, from the Bonnyrigg area, was also charged with violating his Asbo conditions on Saturday. He is set to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on the same date.

Meanwhile, the blitz against antisocial behaviour by the Midlothian Community Action Team also saw alcohol seized from three 16-year-old girls on Friday at 11:30pm. The alcohol was confiscated by the officers and letters will be sent to the parents of the children in each case.

An 18-year-old man was given a fixed penalty notice for throwing a child's scooter through a common stair window at Carnethy Court, Penicuik, on Saturday.
