Letter: How to cap pay
No-one can doubt that the most important job in Britain is that of Prime Minister. It is therefore morally axiomatic that no-one should have an income - earned, unearned or a combination thereof - higher than that of the PM. If one accepts that logical truism, there is a simple way of achieving it.
If our politicians are serious about curbing the incomes of parasitic plutocrats, all they need to do is extend the current tax rate system so that all income in excess of 80,000 per annum is taxed at 60 per cent, that above 100,000 is taxed at 75 per cent and any income higher than 160,000 is taxed at 100 per cent.

The parasites will shout that such a policy would lead them to forsake the UK. Surely it is time for us to bite the bullet and give the five-word response - "Good riddance to bad rubbish!"
