MSP axe vow as UKIP starts election fight

UKIP leader Nigel Farage and deputy leader Lord Christopher Monckton launched their manifesto for the Holyrood elections, promising to scrap the smoking ban, sack all MSPs and halt wind farms.

Mr Farage claimed devolution had created "a marzipan layer" of politicians, civil servants and quangos. UKIP would get rid of MSPs and have Scotland's MPs deciding on Scottish issues instead.

Lord Monckton claimed wind farms were posing health concerns.
