Couple killed in 'ferocious attack'

Detectives investigating the murder of an elderly Italian couple found dead in their home said they were subjected to a "sustained and ferocious" knife and hammer attack.

Officers have been given more time to question three men arrested on suspicion of the murders of Guiseppe Massaro, 80, and his wife Caterina, 77.
