City leaders in cuts quiz

ALL city council directors are to answer questions on cuts at a meeting of the policy and strategy committee.

The directors have been asked to take part in a discussion about their latest proposals, which are aimed at plugging the gap in the council's finances.

The discussion, taking place on Tuesday, comes ahead of the 2011-12 council budget next month.

City leader Jenny Dawe said: "It is to give an opportunity for the opposition groups to question directors. There will be representatives of every department there to answer questions."
