We (THE PEOPLE OF EDINBURGH) do not want trams, but then we dont count, do we.

And besides, we are yet to see if the first scheme can be delivered on budget.
Not a penny more should be seen to spent on that, before we worry about any other lines.

No 1- you do not speak for all the people of Edinburgh, so why not limit yourself to constructive criticism instead of childish banter.

No.3. Perhaps not but he does speak for the democratic majority which is why it never went to a vote (after the conjestion charge slap in the face for the council and it's bad ideas proved).

Why should public funds be used at all for the trams? They are going to be run by private operators so why should they not make the investment? They will after all take all the profits!

Why the f*ck would anybody want to go from Granton to Roseburn or vice versa????

I haven't met a single person who wants trams in Edinburgh. As has been pointed out by #4 Salty, Midlothian, that is why this didn't go to vote. It is absolutely scandalous that so much money has been poured into this when Edinburgh is suffering cuts everywhere else. We need services far more than we need a one route tram.

Those who are so strident against the trams but support a second Forth crossing should have their bluff called.
I suggest the SNP, the petrol heads and the road hauliers form a private company to build the bridge.
They should then have a vote among themselves to offer shares to the public with anyone purchasing shares given tollfree crossing of the bridge all others to pay. Oh I forgot they are against tolls on the bridges - or are they.

A similar 'buy out could be applied to all bridges in Scotland

Today's Vote

Is it right for the council to scrap the proposed Granton spur for the trams?
Yes, in this economic climate the city can’t afford it
No, we need a tram network, not just a single line
Why stop there? Scrap the whole project
