CHEER up! Scots are not the miserable old gits of cartoon portrayal. We're happy. According to a new survey from St Andrew's House, we are among the happiest people across 23 European countries.
Scotland is one of nine countries in Europe whose citizens ranked top for life satisfaction. Out of a total possible score of ten, our mean score of 8.1 (don't ask about the .1) was higher than the rest of the UK, on only 7.2.
